Ilias Lekkos is a highly experienced economist currently serving as Chief Economist and Assistant General Manager at Piraeus Bank since June 2007, where responsibilities include overseeing the Economic Analysis & Markets Division. Lekkos also holds several key advisory and board positions, including Senior Advisor at Intrum Hellas, Member of the Board of Advisors at the Greek Competitiveness Council, and representative of the Hellenic Banks Association on multiple European Banking Federation committees. Additional roles include Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Hellenic Statistical System, Member of the Board of Directors at the Foundation for Economic & Industrial Research (IOBE) and European Reliance Asset Management S.A., and participation in the Economic Advisory Committee meetings of the Institute of International Finance. Lekkos's educational background includes a PhD in Finance from Lancaster University and executive training in Credit Risk Modelling from Stanford University.
