Chad Vickery

Vice President, Global Strategy And Technical Leadership at The International Foundation for Electoral Systems

Chad Vickery has extensive experience in the field of electoral systems and governance. Chad began their career at The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) in 2008 as the Regional Director for Europe and Asia, where they oversaw a significant annual budget and coordinated program funding and strategic planning. In 2014, they became the Director at IFES, where they generated publications and performed qualitative and quantitative data analysis on the impact of IFES globally. In 2018, Vickery was promoted to Senior Director, and then to Vice President of Global Strategy and Technical Leadership in 2019. In these roles, they led strategic initiatives, supervised technical experts, and spearheaded research projects to address electoral fraud and abuse of state resources. In addition to their work at IFES, Vickery also served as the Technical Director at The Consortium for Electoral and Political Process Strengthening (CEPPS), where they led the daily operations of the USAID Global Elections and Political Transitions mechanism. Chad implemented an adaptive management system that improved program performance and replication of innovations.

Chad Vickery has a diverse education history. Chad completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science, with a focus on International Political Economy, at the University of Washington from 1995 to 1997. Chad then pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Affairs at Georgetown University, which they completed from 1998 to 2000. Later, from 2004 to 2007, they attended The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where they obtained their Juris Doctor (JD) degree with a specialization in International Law.
