Carlie Sharpes

Aquaculturist at The Klamath Tribes

Carlie Sharpes is an experienced aquaculturist currently working with The Klamath Tribes since April 2023. Prior to this role, Carlie held positions as a contracted researcher at Merck, focusing on interdisciplinary salmonid studies, and as a master's researcher at the University of Idaho, where Carlie mentored undergraduate interns and conducted research on redband trout. Carlie's experience also includes serving as a biological science technician with the USDA ARS and leading a youth crew for the U.S. Forest Service in conservation projects. Early career positions involved trail work with AmeriCorps, research assistance at the University of Colorado Boulder, and underwater research on coral ecosystems in the Caribbean. Carlie holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
