Todd J. Walker

Todd J. Walker, MBA has over 30 years of work experience in the healthcare industry. Todd J. currently serves as the Vice President of Access to Care at The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio, a role they have held since April 2023. In this position, they are responsible for the strategic direction of the unified and centralized patient access process.

Prior to their current role, Walker was the Chief Executive Officer of Covalent Health starting from November 2017. Todd J. was appointed CFO by the board of directors, overseeing all aspects of national operations for the organization, including customer service, IT, HR, facilities, purchasing, and transportation.

Before Covalent Health, Walker worked at University Hospitals as the Executive Director of Rainbow Call Center & Rainbow Care Connection. Todd J. executed operational, financial, and analytical management for the division and served as the PMI for a grant aimed at improving patient access.

Walker also held leadership positions at American Medical Response, Rural/Metro Corporation, Metro Ambulance, and Cleveland EMS, gaining extensive experience in operational, financial, and revenue management. Todd J. was responsible for strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and improving under-performing business units.

Throughout their career, Walker has demonstrated excellent leadership skills, fostering consensus building among diverse groups and achieving organizational goals. Todd J. holds an MBA degree and has received recognition for their contributions, including the Star of Life Award.

Todd J. Walker, MBA has a diverse education background. Todd J. completed the Lean Healthcare Practitioner Program at Kent State University in 2014-2015, focusing on Lean Management. In 2011, they attended Harvard University to study Negotiation and Decision Making Strategies. Todd earned their MBA in Finance from Regis University from 2007 to 2009. Todd J. pursued a dual degree in Business Administration (BBA) and Nursing (BSN) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2004 to 2007. Additionally, they have completed various specialized training programs including Strategic Planning for Executives at Cleveland State University in 1993, Leadership Training for Managers at Dale Carnegie in 1992, Effective Communications & Public Speaking at Dale Carnegie in 1991, and Paramedic training at Brentwood Hospital in 1983.
