John McCauley is an accomplished academic and practitioner in international development and conflict management. Currently serving as the Director of the International Development and Conflict Management program and an Associate Professor of Government & Politics at the University of Maryland since August 2011, John McCauley also holds a position as a Technical Expert at The Mitchell Group Inc., focusing on USAID's public health initiatives in Ethiopia. With extensive experience as a Senior Evaluation Specialist for various USAID initiatives in West and Central Africa, John McCauley's academic credentials include a PhD in Political Science from UCLA, an MA in International Relations from Yale University, a BA in Economics from William & Mary, and a General Course Certificate in Political Economy from The London School of Economics and Political Science. John McCauley also contributed as a Visiting Research Fellow at EHESS and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
