Luis F. González has extensive work experience in various roles within the fields of planning, landscape architecture, and urban design.

Starting in 2002, they worked as a Planner at Greenhorne & O'Mara, where they developed and submitted tree conservation plans, conducted inspections for plan compliance, and designed recreational areas.

From 2004 to 2009, they served as an Associate/Senior Planner/Landscape Architect at Rodgers Consulting, playing a key role in obtaining approvals for a mixed-use development. Luis F. coordinated the dissemination of data and served as the point of contact for clients, consultants, and review agencies.

In 2009, Luis joined the City of Alexandria as an Urban Planner III, where they participated in waterfront and urban planning initiatives, engaged with the community in forums and charrettes, and reviewed development applications for compliance.

Luis F. returned to Rodgers Consulting in 2017 as a Senior Planner/Associate, focusing on planning projects until 2018.

Luis worked as a Senior Project Designer at Streetsense from 2015 to 2017, where they applied innovative planning and community engagement practices to reposition distressed commercial real estate assets.

In 2014, they served as a Senior Landscape Architect at SOLTESZ, involved in various landscape architecture projects.

Luis founded StudioLFG in 2010 and served as the Principal, leading the planning and landscape architecture for mixed-use developments. In addition, they also worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, teaching Regional Design Studio.

At Lennar, they held multiple roles from 2018 to 2022, including Sr. Land Development Manager, Land Entitlements Manager, Sr. Entitlements Manager, and Director of Land Entitlements. Their responsibilities included managing entitlements and land development activities, engaging with local jurisdictions, negotiating approvals, and assisting in strategic planning.

Since 2022, Luis has been working as the Director of Engineering at EYA, LLC, overseeing site plan engineering and approval processes for urban infill, neighborhood revitalization, and brownfield redevelopment projects.

Luis F. González, PLA, ASLA, AICP, obtained their Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture (BLA) from the University of Maryland, where they studied from 1996 to 2001. Prior to their college education, they attended Our Lady of Good Counsel High School from 1993 to 1996.

In addition to their formal education, Luis F. González has pursued various certifications throughout their career. Luis F. became a Registered Landscape Architect in Maryland in March 2007, followed by their Certification as a Landscape Architect (CLARB) from the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards in August 2008. Luis F. further expanded their credentials by becoming a Registered Landscape Architect in Virginia in March 2009 and obtaining their AICP certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners in December 2015.

More recently, Luis F. González completed the Midlevel Leaders Program offered by Lennar, a program facilitated by Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning, in October 2021. Additionally, they obtained the Landscape Architect - DC certification from DCOPLA in July 2020, demonstrating their commitment to professional growth and staying up-to-date with industry standards and practices.
