Job description

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Publicist to join our corporate department. As a Publicist, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans to promote our company, projects, and initiatives to the media and the public. This role requires excellent communication skills, creativity, and a strong understanding of media relations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive publicity campaigns to generate media coverage for clients and projects.

  2. Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, and other media professionals.

  3. Write press releases, media pitches, and other materials to effectively communicate key messages and story angles.

  4. Coordinate interviews, press events, and other media opportunities.

  5. Monitor media coverage and track the effectiveness of publicity efforts.

  6. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.

  7. Stay updated on industry trends, news, and developments to identify new opportunities for publicity.

  8. Provide strategic counsel to clients on media relations and public relations strategies.

  9. Handle inquiries from the media and manage crisis communications when necessary.

  10. Assist in managing social media accounts and online presence to enhance visibility and engagement.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.

  2. Proven experience working in public relations, media relations, or related field.

  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  4. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with media contacts.

  5. Creative thinking and ability to generate unique story ideas and angles.

  6. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with media monitoring tools and databases.

  9. Knowledge of social media platforms and their role in public relations.

  10. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working with companies in the entertainment, arts, or lifestyle industries.

  2. Familiarity with graphic design and multimedia production tools.

  3. Previous experience managing crisis communications.

  4. Advanced degree or professional certification in Public Relations or Communications.
