Marlo Safi is a Journalism Fellow at National Review and a Contributor at CatholicVote.org. Marlo is also an Intern at Edgar Snyder & Associates, a Contributing Writer at Order & Liberty, and serves as the Election Advisory Chairwoman at Pi Sigma Alpha. Additionally, Marlo is a Member of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute and a Reporting Intern at Campus Reform. Safi is the Editor at The Pitt News and a Public Policy and Politics Opinion Columnist. Marlo also served as the Editor in Chief at The Pitt Maverick and a Research Assistant at the University of Pittsburgh Learning Research and Development Center. Safi studied Political Science, English (Journalism) & Poetry minor, Journalism, and Arabic at the University of Pittsburgh.

The Pitt News
The Pitt News has been the University of Pittsburgh’s award-winning daily student newspaper since 1910. The newspaper publishes daily during the fall and spring semesters, and weekly during the summer, with 10,000 copies distributed to campus newsstands. The paper has won prestigious awards from the Associated College Press (widely considered to be the “Pulitzer Prizes” of college journalism), Columbia Scholastic Press Association, College Media Business & Advertising Managers and the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association. Funded through advertising revenue, The Pitt News employs more than 200 students who sell ads, edit and design the print newspaper, write opinions and cover news, culture, sports and more. The Pitt News strives to promote discourse on campus and inform the Pitt student body about issues affecting college students at the University and across the country. Our staff has gone on to work at The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Daily News, South China Morning Post, CNN, Vanity Fair, CNBC, CBS Sports, Time Magazine, National Geographic, Bloomberg News, Hearst Magazines, Men’s Health, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Business-Times, Tribune-Review, PublicSource and numerous other outlets.
