Denise Spann began their career in 2013 as a Content Contributor and Featured Blogger with MileSplit, Inc. In 2015, they became a Sports Management Graduate Assistant and an Athletic Communications Student Contributor at Michigan State University, while also being a Women's Track and Field Student-Athlete. In 2016, they were a General Assignment Sports Reporter for The State News and in 2018, they were a Communications and Marketing Intern for Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE) and a WKAR Current Sports Reporter at Michigan State University. In 2019, they were a Communications Intern for USA Track & Field and in 2021, they were an Associate Social Media Coordinator and Digital Media Fellow for The Players' Tribune, before becoming a Social Media Coordinator at the same company.
Denise Spann attended Michigan State University from 2015 to 2019 and obtained their Bachelor's degree in Journalism. Denise then continued their studies at Michigan State University and obtained their Master's degree in Journalism in 2021. In December 2020, they obtained the MSU Graduate School RCR Program certification from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY.
