Ruth Strain McIof

Ruth Strain PhD MCIOF has extensive experience in philanthropic development, currently serving as the Development Manager at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh since December 2018, focusing on relationships with Trusts & Foundations, Legacy Giving, and Community Fundraising. Previously, Ruth held several roles at the University of Edinburgh, including Senior Philanthropy Officer for the School of GeoSciences and Development Assistant for the College of Humanities and Social Science. Early career experiences include Development Office Assistant at St Hilda's College, Graduate Teaching Assistant at University College London, and various development roles at Linacre College. Ruth holds a Ph.D. in English and Scandinavian Studies from UCL and an MSt in English from the University of Oxford.
