Wakaya Wells

Wakaya Wells is an experienced professional in equity and inclusion, currently serving as the Equity and Inclusion Manager for the City of Saint Paul since April 2023. Prior to this role, Wakaya worked as the Excellence in Equity Coordinator at Osseo Area Schools from July 2021 to April 2023, and held multiple positions at the Oregon Institute of Technology, including Assistant Director of Diversity & Belonging and Multicultural Student Services Coordinator from December 2017 to May 2021. Earlier experience includes serving as a Success Coach for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma from September 2015 to March 2017. Wakaya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies from Dartmouth College (2015) and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts (2019).
