Matthew I. Choi

Matthew I. Choi is a seasoned journalist specializing in political reporting, currently serving as the Washington Correspondent for The Texas Tribune since July 2022. In this role, Choi covers the Texas Congressional delegation and federal elections in Texas. Prior to this position, Choi worked at POLITICO as a Washington Correspondent and Energy Reporter from September 2018 to July 2022, where responsibilities included authoring the Morning Energy newsletter and reporting on energy and climate policy related to President Biden's climate agenda. Earlier experience includes various roles at the Texas Tribune, such as Breaking News Reporter, Web Producer, and Editorial Intern, as well as a Reporting Fellow with the Council of American Ambassadors. Choi holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Political Science from Northwestern University, supplemented by an educational experience at the School for International Training and Lycée Raymond Poincaré.
