Hugh Lawrence is an engaged undergraduate at Tufts University, pursuing a degree from 2022 to 2026. Currently, Hugh serves as a Tufts BDBS Intern at the Tufts Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, conducting research in Andrew Camilli's Lab on nonessential ribonucleotide reductase systems and their role in DNA synthesis during cholera phage ICP1 infection. Additionally, Hugh works as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Department of Biology, focusing on beta-lactamase-producing Staphylococcus species in cheese rinds and salami. As a Mental Health Representative, Hugh advocates for mental health support and promotes well-being among peers. Experience extends to serving as an Executive Video Editor and Features Editor for The Tufts Daily, alongside roles in multimedia journalism and project internships with the Personal Genetics Education Project. Past involvement includes a student trainee position at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and volunteer work at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center.
