Alex Scott

Alex Scott is an accomplished academic and professional in supply chain management, currently serving as an Associate Professor and Gerald T. Niedert Professor at the University of Tennessee since June 2021. Prior academic positions include Assistant Professor at Michigan State University and Northeastern University, as well as a Ph.D. student at Penn State University, where a Doctor of Philosophy in Supply Chain Management was obtained. Prior to academia, Alex Scott held various roles at IBM, leading the development of services solutions for the ILOG Supply Chain and Optimization Product Suite, and worked as a senior consultant and engineer in logistics at Kenco Logistics Services and J.B. Hunt Transport, respectively. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Operations Research from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.
