Colleen Dutton

Colleen Dutton is the current Chief Human Resources Officer at The University of Texas at Dallas. Colleen has over 20 years of experience in human resources, employee relations, and talent management.

Colleen started their career at Rice University in March 2000 as the Director Employee Relations & Talent Management. In this role, they were responsible for the strategic and daily operations of the employee relations and talent management activities for the entire university. Colleen advised senior leadership on departmental organization and structure, staffing needs and strategic planning, employee retention, workforce planning, and staff development.

In May 2012, they left Rice University to take on the role of Chief Human Resources Officer at The University of Texas at Dallas. In this role, they are responsible for leading the university’s efforts in human resources, including recruitment, retention, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and compliance.

Under their leadership, The University of Texas at Dallas has been recognized as a top employer by multiple publications, including Forbes and The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Colleen Dutton has a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from Sam Houston State University.
