Joy Solorzano

Joy Solorzano has a wealth of experience in the field of human resources. Joy currently serves as the Human Resources Director at Virginia Spine Institute, a nationally recognized specialty practice in spinal healthcare. Joy previously held the position of Human Resources Manager at the same company. Prior to their work at Virginia Spine Institute, they worked as an HR Manager at Intermarkets, Inc., where they acted as a benefits administrator and ensured regulatory compliance. Joy also served as a Senior HR Generalist at Acuity, Inc., where they partnered with leadership on HR policies, practices, and conflict resolutions. Joy also provided HR support at General Dynamics Information Technology and Vangent, a General Dynamics company. At CSC, they worked as a Senior Human Resources Assistant, managing the onboarding process for new hires. Joy began their career at USAA, where they held roles as a People Services Senior Associate and an Associate Underwriter, providing HR support and reviewing insurance policies.

Joy Solorzano attended Kecoughtan High School from 1998 to 2002, but did not obtain a specific degree or field of study during that time. From 2002 to 2006, Joy Solorzano attended James Madison University and earned a degree in Communication Studies with a focus on Health and Organizational Communication. In addition to their formal education, Joy Solorzano obtained certifications in HR-related fields. In 2011, they earned the Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI. In 2015, they obtained the SHRM - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
