Adriana Proser began their work experience as the Assistant Curator of East Asian Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in September 1997. Adriana held this position until March 2004. In April 2004, they joined the Asia Society as the John H. Foster Curator for Traditional Asian Art. Adriana later became the John H. Foster Senior Curator of Trai at the Asia Society Museum in March 2004. Finally, in May 2020, they joined The Walters Art Museum as the Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Quincy Scott Curator of Asian Art.

Adriana Proser obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language & Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Adriana then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Chinese Art History from Columbia University, completing their studies between 1987 and 1995. Additionally, they also pursued another Ph.D. in Art History, again from Columbia University. However, specific details about the duration of this degree are not provided.
