Brian Roof

As Senior Vice President and Chief Counsel for Weather Group, Brian Roof leads and oversees all legal and business affairs matters for The Weather Channel, Local Now and other businesses of the company.

Prior to joining the network in 2019, Brian served as General Counsel for Cooper Holdings, a privately held company with subsidiaries in sports and entertainment representation, broadcast television, and sports and digital marketing. Brian oversaw all legal matters affecting the companies including the launch and sale of two over-the-air, multicast networks, Justice Network and Quest. Brian also negotiated employment and endorsement agreements for well-known sports figures in the NBA, NFL, MLB, PGA and US Soccer, in addition to entertainment personalities for news and sports networks.

Prior to joining Cooper Holdings in 2008, Roof was an Associate in the Real Estate Practice Group with Arnall Golden Gregory LLP, a law firm with attorneys in Atlanta and Washington, DC and represented owners, developers, landlords and tenants in the acquisition, disposition, development, financing and leasing of commercial real estate.

Brian serves on the Board of Directors for The Trolley Barn, in Atlanta, GA and serves as a member of the University of Florida Law Alumni Council. Brian has previously been a Certified MLB Agent and US Soccer Intermediary.

Brian is a Florida native and earned his Bachelor of Arts, Political Science from the University of Florida and Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
