Sheila Iyer's work experience includes positions at Johns Hopkins Medicine, The Johns Hopkins University, MedTech Network - MTN, The Women's Network, MedHacks, Google, Children's Science Center, and Technology Student Association. At Johns Hopkins Medicine, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Armanios Lab. At The Johns Hopkins University, they held multiple roles, including Lab Manager at Structural Biology of Cells Lab, Intermediate Programming Course Assistant, Saligenics Design Team Member, Lab Manager at Biomedical Engineering and Design, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor Research Intern at Salzberg Lab, and Undergraduate Research Assistant at Langmead Lab. Sheila worked as a Summer Research Intern at Langmead Lab and as a Spring Camp Intern at Children's Science Center.

Sheila Iyer completed their high school education at Thomas Jefferson High for Science And Technology from 2016 to 2020, earning a High School Diploma with a focus on Biology/Biological Sciences and Computer Science. Following their high school graduation, Sheila enrolled at The Johns Hopkins University in 2020 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering and Computer Science. Additionally, Sheila has also participated in the Harvard Summer School, studying Genome Sciences/Genomics, and attended the Johns Hopkins Center For Talented Youth (CTY) for further studies in Chemistry.
