Marie Huey serves as the Leader of Public Policy and Advocacy at Think Small, a position held since December 2015, where responsibilities include coordinating advocacy efforts, lobbying state legislators, and designing communications plans for legislative sessions. Marie has also delivered advocacy training and facilitated advocacy skill development for early childhood professionals. Previous roles include Public Policy and Advocacy Coordinator and Civic Engagement Specialist at the U.S. Census Bureau, as well as experiences in educational roles with Way to Grow, Minnesota Reading Corps, and Minneapolis Community Education. Education includes a BA in English Writing and Hispanic Studies from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Mini-MBA for Nonprofit Organizations from the University of St. Thomas.
