Pradeep Pai has worked in several engineering roles over the past six years. In 2014, they started as a Detailing Engineer at H&R Steel Detailing in India. In 2016, they became a Chassis Design Engineer at The University of Texas at Arlington. There, they reviewed specifications for technical design, developed 3D models and 2D drawings of chassis components and fixtures for prototyping and testing, and reduced the weight of the chassis by 3.2 pounds. In 2017, they continued at The University of Texas at Arlington as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they researched and reviewed engineering data, developed models using SolidWorks, and performed calculations for buckling, bending and torsion. In 2018, they moved to Nalu Medical, Inc. as a Mechanical Engineer, where they developed design specifications, part specifications, verification plans and test protocols to validate designs for 510K submissions. Pradeep also worked with cross-functional teams and interfaced with suppliers of components and sub-assemblies to plan, manage and prioritize projects. Finally, in 2019, they became a Design Engineer at THINK Surgical, where they followed rigorous design control and regulatory processes to design, develop and test surgical robotic systems for total knee and hip replacement surgeries in an NX CAD/CAM environment. Pradeep also developed requirement and specification documents in conjunction with other subsystems to establish a smooth interface, and worked with external partners and clinicians to identify and implement product requirements.
Pradeep Pai obtained their 10th Grade Certificate from Lok Puram Public School in 2008, followed by a 12th Grade Certificate from National Education Society in 2010. Pradeep then went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from MGM's College of Engineering and Technology, Navi Mumbai, graduating in 2014. In the same year, they obtained a Professional in Product Design and Analysis Certification from CADD Centre Training Services Pvt Ltd. Pradeep Pai then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington, graduating in 2018.
