Mariia Mikhalova has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mariia started their career as an Executive Director at the Association of Perfumery and Cosmetics of Ukraine (APCU) from 2011 to 2014. Following that, they worked as a Market Research Analyst at Al Hasanat for International Consulting and Services from 2014 to 2016. Mariia then transitioned to a Project Manager role at Expert Bureau "CU Ukraine" LLC from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, Mariia became a Data Analyst at MURKA, where they worked until 2019. That same year, they joined WebPick Internet Holdings Ltd. as a Data/BI Analyst. Currently, Mariia is working at thredUP as a Senior Marketing Data Analyst since 2019, and more recently, as a Data Scientist starting in 2022.

Mariia Mikhalova earned a Master's degree in International Management from the National University of Food Technologies, where they studied from 2006 to 2011. In terms of additional certifications, in December 2014, Mariia obtained a certification in Marketing Research with SPSS/Excel from EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS CENTRE LTD. Later, in 2018, they obtained a certification in Data Science/Machine Learning from IT Education Academy (ITEA) and another certification in Basic Statistics from Stepik. Furthermore, Mariia acquired several certifications related to machine learning and deep neural networks from Coursera between 2022 and 2023. These certifications cover various topics such as Convolutional Neural Networks, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Improving Deep Neural Networks, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Advanced Learning Algorithms, Machine Learning Specialization, Unsupervised Learning, Recommenders, Reinforcement Learning, and Supervised Machine Learning: Regression and Classification. Lastly, Mariia also completed a Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp from Udemy in June 2021.
