Mark Tabios

Mark Tabios is currently a Senior Software Engineer at tiiik. Mark has previously worked as an Associate Engineering Manager at Zip Co from August 2019 to February 2022, a Java Developer at FIS from April 2017 to August 2019, and a Technical Lead / Consultant at C Smart International from May 2011 to April 2017. Mark started their career as an Analyst/Programmer at iSphere Global from April 2010 to April 2011.

Mark has extensive experience in software engineering, with a focus on microservices and api gateways. Mark is skilled in Kotlin, Gradle, Springboot, Kafka, MSSQL, DynamoDB and Postgres. Mark has also migrated legacy monolithic services to springboot Kotlin.

Mark is a strong team leader, with experience in performing 1:1s, setting team OKRs, managing delivery and stakeholders, and being the point person in the team. Mark is also experienced in scrum master duties such as grooming, spring planning and retro.

In their current role at tiiik, Mark is responsible for the design and development of payment microservices. Mark has also integrated with different Payment Service Providers to provide least cost routing. Mark's applications are monitored using New Relic, Grafana and Prometheus.

Mark Tabios pursued a Master's degree in Information Technology at UNSW after completing a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at Mapúa University.

They work with Chris Kondo - Full Stack Engineer, James Koungoulos - Full Stack Engineer, and Peter Duan - Co-Founder & Principle Engineer. Mark Tabios reports to Tony Tao, Co-Founder & CTO.
