Tony Tao

Tony Tao is the Co-Founder & CTO at tiiik. Tony is a senior level engineer with a wide range of experience in payments, product development, and technical team leadership.

Tony started their career as a Lead Developer at Innovit, where they spent two years developing software products. Tony then moved to Fairfax Media, where they spent five years as Technical Lead. In this role, Tony was responsible for leading a team of developers in delivering software products.

In 2018, Tony left Fairfax Media to join SiteMinder as Technical Team Lead | Payments. In this role, Tony was responsible for leading the engineering team responsible for developing the payment platform for the Zip Co.

In 2019, Tony left SiteMinder to join Speckle OS as a Senior Consultant. Speckle OS is an open-source browser extension wallet for the Polkadot ecosystem (blockchain). It provides cross-chain asset one-stop management. This open-source project is funded by the Web 3 Foundation.

In 2021, Tony left Speckle OS to join tiiik as Co-Founder & CTO.

Tony Tao reports to Erez Rachamim, Founder & CEO. Some direct reports include Mark Tabios - Senior Software Engineer, Chris Kondo - Full Stack Engineer, and James Koungoulos - Full Stack Engineer. Tony Tao works with David Nichols - Co-Founder & CRO, Tim Smith - Head of Growth, and Daniel Li - Founder & COO.
