Peter Westmacott

Chairman of the United Kingdom at Tikehau Capital

Sir Peter Westmacott serves as Chairman of the United Kingdom and Chairman of Tikehau Capital's International Advisory Board. Sir Peter joined the Diplomatic Service in 1972 and then occupied a number of postings in Teheran, Brussels, Paris, London and Ankara. From 1990 to 1993, he was deputy private secretary to the Prince of Wales, and from 1993 to 1997, served as counselor for political and public affairs in Washington, D.C., before returning to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as Director for the Americas, joining the Board of the FCO in 2000 as deputy undersecretary.

Sir Peter Westmacott served as British ambassador to Turkey (from 2002 to 2006), then to France (from 2007 to 2012) and to the United States (from 2012 to 2016).

Sir Peter was appointed Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (KCMG) in 2003 by HM the Queen and Knight Grand Cross (GCMG) in 2016. He was made a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO) for services to the Royal Family in 1993.

He is now vice-chairman of Tellus Matrix LLP, an advisory director of Campbell Lutyens, Glasswall Holdings and Family Zone, and a Distinguished Ambassadorial Fellow of the Atlantic Council.
