Manager Property Services and Client Lead at Timaru District Council

Nicole Timney has an extensive work experience in the field of property and facilities management. Nicole currently serves as the Manager of Property Services and Client Lead at Timaru District Council since August 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the National Manager of Facilities at AgResearch from July 2018 to August 2020, where they led the Campus Services Group and managed a team of 5 direct and 34 indirect reports.

Before AgResearch, Nicole held the position of Property and Purchasing Manager at Alpine Energy Group from February 2016 to July 2018. In this role, they focused on property development and management, contract negotiation and administration, and supply chain utilization.

Nicole also has experience working as a Property Manager at Colliers International in Christchurch from December 2014 to January 2016. Nicole managed a large portfolio of commercial properties and was involved in business development for the Queenstown and Dunedin offices. Before this, they worked at Port Otago Ltd as a Contract - Port/Customer/Vessel Security/Port Security Research from October 2013 to February 2014, and as a Marine Coordinator from February 2008 to April 2013.

Their earlier experiences include roles at Otago Real Estate as a Commercial Property Manager from September 1999 to August 2004, and at Locations Realty in Queenstown as a Commercial Property Manager from June 1996 to August 1999. Throughout their career, Nicole has demonstrated expertise in property management, strategic planning, financial and operational management, contract negotiation, and leadership.

Nicole Timney began their education journey in 2010 at the Auckland Maritime School, where they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Shipping Management. From 2009 to 2013, they pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce and Management, with a specialization in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and Marketing, at Lincoln University (NZ). Concurrently, from 2009 to 2015, they also completed their Master of Commerce and Management (Distinction) degree at the same institution, focusing on the same fields of study. Currently, Nicole is enrolled at the University of Otago and is expected to graduate in 2024 with a Doctor of Business Administration degree, specializing in Sustainable Strategic Management of Real Estate.
