Simon Peter

Simon Peter has a diverse range of work experience in the software engineering field. Simon started their career as a Computer Vision Software Developer at the Aerospace Robotics and Control Laboratory, where they focused on writing computer vision software using OpenCV to assist a quadrocopter in autonomous navigation over bodies of water.

Simon then interned at GE Digital in 2014 and 2015, where they designed and developed an Excel Add-in for a customer and implemented a major feature for the Q3 release of their .NET client application, respectively.

In 2016, Simon joined GE Digital as a Software Engineer, where they were part of a rotational program in different software engineering roles across GE's businesses. Simon decomposed their monolithic .NET Analytics engine into several Spring microservices, overcoming performance limitations.

Simon worked at Avitas Systems, a GE Venture, in 2017, as one of the original developers in a new team funded by GE Ventures to use drones for automated inspections. Simon designed and implemented image and video ingestion Java microservices and built an image reviewing application in Polymer.

Simon then joined Clara Lending as a Software Engineer before moving to SoFi in 2018. At SoFi, Simon worked as a Software Engineer. In 2019, they joined Affirm, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer. While at Affirm, they led the development of a backend state machine library and owned the API microservice for frontend workflows.

Simon's most recent work experience is with Tome, where they started as a Software Engineer in 2023. Overall, Simon Peter has gained a wide range of skills and expertise in software engineering throughout their career.
