Klaas la Roi (MA)

Klaas la Roi (MA) has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2011, they worked as an actor for Theatergezelschap Sequens. From 2012 to 2015, they served as a theatermaker, responsible for writing, directing, and producing three theater productions for student organizations. In 2013, they worked as a student assistant for the secretariat of Leiden University Center for Linguistic (LUCL), assisting with administrative tasks.

In 2016, Klaas joined the Literary-Scientific magazine Vooys as an editor, ensuring the quality and correctness of texts, and maintained communication with authors. In 2017, they became the Chef Eindredactie before transitioning to a role as a Dutch as a second language (NT2) teacher at Up2Learn Taaltrajecten in 2017. In this position, they coached students towards achieving language level B1, focusing on study, reading, and listening skills, as well as preparation for the state exam I.

In 2019, Klaas began their journey in the IT industry as a Platform Engineer I, specializing in mobile devices at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. Klaas developed cloud solutions using Microsoft's Intune platform for secure application deployment on mobile devices. In 2021, they advanced to Platform Engineer II, mainly focusing on Nexthink. During this time, they were trained through a trainee program provided by Didacticum Opleidingen BV.

In 2023, they joined TOPdesk as a Developer Experience Engineer, utilizing their expertise in software development to enhance the developer experience.

Klaas la Roi (MA) attended Gymnasium Celeanum from 2002 to 2008, where they obtained their VWO degree in the field of Natuur en gezondheid. Klaas then went on to study at Leiden University from 2008 to 2013, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Dutch language and culture. Klaas continued their education at Leiden University from 2015 to 2017, obtaining a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Moderne Letterkunde. Additionally, they obtained certifications in EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation from Exin Agile Scrum in April 2019 and a Master of Arts in Neerlandistiek from Universiteit Leiden in June 2017.
