Maria Cepeda

Maria Cepeda is an experienced professional in the fields of recreation and sports coaching, currently serving as a Volunteer Committee Member for the National Recreation and Park Association's National Conference Program Committee since October 2024. Maria also works as a Girls Lacrosse Coach at Myers Park High School, focusing on athlete training and team development since December 2023. In addition, Maria has been the Events Manager for the Town of Huntersville since 2022, overseeing park operations and community events. Previous roles include Senior Recreation Specialist at Mecklenburg County from September 2018 to October 2022, and recreation-focused internships with The Woodlands Township. Maria began their career as a Head Lifeguard at Monroe Aquatics & Fitness Center and as a Camp Counselor at YMCA of Greater Charlotte. Maria holds a Bachelor's degree in Community and Commercial Recreation from Wingate University, earned in May 2018.
