About the Role:

Our client wants a Storage/System Engineer to join our team. This position will be responsible for administering, configuring, installing, provisioning, and monitoring storage and system environments in a hybrid datacenter. Job duties include troubleshooting to ensure the availability, capacity, and performance of infrastructure systems. Perform assigned duties with general direction from team leads and/or managers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Administer and manage large storage deployments, including SAN and NAS environments
  • Configuration, support, and administration of storage systems and associated infrastructure
  • Perform on-site technical support for storage systems
  • Monitor storage system performance, resolve issues, and maintain operational logs
  • Implement and manage highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure focusing on AWS.
  • Deploy and maintain storage solutions within cloud environments (AWS)
  • Develop automation to support continuous delivery and integration processes
  • Work closely with the Development team to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of storage infrastructure.
  • Analyze and resolve configuration issues in development, test, and production environments
  • Manage On-Premise Datacenter maintenance, including patching servers and backups and maintaining documentation.
  • Coordinate with the larger Systems and Infrastructure team on projects and initiatives
  • Generate hardware and software reports from SCCM to determine deficiencies
  • Administer and manage NetApp storage systems, including setup, configuration, and monitoring
  • Perform data backup and recovery operations using Commvault, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Optimize NetApp storage performance and capacity planning
  • Develop and implement data protection strategies using Commvault
  • Ensure systems comply with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Implement security hardening measures and maintain secure configurations
  • Create and maintain golden images for rapid deployment and consistency
  • Perform regular system patching and security updates
  • Maintain backups and ensure data recoverability
  • Support Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environments as needed
  • Participate in on-call support and be available 24/7 for troubleshooting issues in a Datacenter environment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical support and upgrades

Qualifications & Interests:

  • 5 -10 Years of experience supporting computer systems 
  • Strong experience with storage systems (SAN, NAS) and cloud storage solutions (AWS)
  • Proficient in configuring and managing storage systems
  • Ability to create and maintain golden images
  • Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and security hardening
  • NetApp storage experience, including setup, configuration, and monitoring
  • Experience with Commvault data protection and recovery solutions
  • VMware virtual server management experience
  • Proficient in system/application monitoring tools (e.g., Orion)
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for network-related issues
  • Strong understanding of system patching and updates
  • Ability to write documentation and coordinate with vendors
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to determine escalation points quickly
  • Knowledge of other cloud environments like Google Cloud is a plus
  • Experience working in or supporting Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environments.
  • US Citizen is required
  • Ability to obtain or currently hold a Secret Clearance

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
