We are currently seeking a detail-oriented  AutoCAD Engineer/Drafter who can provide computer-aided drafting support on various projects. The ideal candidate should have preferred experience in Geotechnical, Construction Materials Testing (CMT), and/or Environmental Engineering. This role involves transforming initial rough product designs into accurate and efficient working documents using state-of-the-art technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Use mark-ups provided by senior engineers/designers to develop design layouts.
  • Review drawings and make changes according to redlines.
  • Transform initial rough product designs using computer-aided design & drafting (CADD) into working documents.
  • Follow established technical specifications to prepare drawings and assist in design drafting.
  • Coordinate with various engineering disciplines to develop and correct plan layouts.
  • Modify, create, and release drawings and documents for use by civil engineering project teams using CADD systems.
  • Create plans and profiles of utility networks using primarily 2D, with required experience in 3D.
  • Partner with all departments to ensure the integrity of drawings and that they convey the correct information.
  • Read and interpret drawings to create legend sheets and large-scale detail sheets.
  • Work from drawings, sketches, scanned images, client drawings, or government drawings/specifications to devise project plans and details for delivery to various clients.
  • Perform other duties as required by Project Teams.

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as a CAD Engineer or similar role.
  • Preferred experience in Geotechnical, CMT, and/or Environmental Engineering.
  • Excellent knowledge of 3D modeling tools.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Associate's or technical degree in engineering drafting/CADD operation or equivalent experience.
  • AutoCAD Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • BSc degree in Engineering or a relevant field.

Salary and Hours:

  • Contract Role
  • Hourly salary will be commensurate with experience.
