Ashley Ottaway

Ashley Ottaway has a strong background in human resources. Ashley started their career as a Timekeeping Assistant at General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk in 2008, where they created and maintained timekeeping training documents and monitored worker's hours. Ashley later became a Human Resources Associate, providing administrative support to the HR department and maintaining job boards for open positions. In 2012, they transitioned to the role of Human Resources Generalist at the same company, aligning business objectives with employees and management and recruiting potential employees.

In 2015, Ashley joined KOVA Global, Inc as a Human Resources Office Manager, responsible for duties such as benefits administration, staffing, compliance, and payroll for government contractors. Ashley also monitored trends and legislation to identify impacts on the company and ensured legal compliance.

Ashley then returned to General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk in 2016 as a Senior HR Generalist III. In this role, they provided HR support for over 500 employees and 1000+ temporary workers, managed labor relations activities including union contract negotiations, and owned the company's employee relations process.

Since 2017, Ashley has been working at Trader Interactive as a Senior Human Resources Manager. Ashley'sresponsibilities include building and executing people-focused Total Rewards programs, serving as a strategic and operational partner to HR and Executive Leadership, and designing and evaluating compensation and benefits programs. Ashley also provides strategic support on leadership effectiveness, proactive solutions, team member engagement, risk mitigation, and complex HR issues. Additionally, they ensure compliance with company policies, state/federal regulations, and serves as the company's Safety and Security Officer.

Ashley Ottaway, SHRM-SCP, completed an Associates of Science degree in Social Sciences at Tidewater Community College from 2006 to 2010. Later, Ashley pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Tourism Management at Old Dominion University from 2010 to 2012. In February 2020, Ashley obtained the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM.
