Rafael Mendible

Rafael Mendible has a diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to the present. Rafael is currently the Chief Credit Officer at TransPecos Banks, SSB, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, Rafael served as the Head of Enterprise Financial Risk Management and Real Estate Company Chief Risk Officer at USAA from July 2015 to January 2022. Before their time at USAA, Rafael worked at Jefferies & Company as the SVP - Global Head of Risk Analytics from May 2011 to July 2015, and as the SVP – Director of Credit Risk Control & Analytics from April 2010 to May 2011. Rafael also worked at Barclays Capital as the Director - GFRM from January 2007 to April 2010. Prior to that, Rafael held the position of Senior Manager at KPMG in September 2006, and Manager at Deloitte & Touche from 2002 to 2006.

Rafael Mendible obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from UCAB - Universidad Católica Andrés Bello between 1989 and 1994. Later on, they pursued a PhD in Economics at Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business, which they completed from 1996 to 2001.
