Monika Rommel has over 14 years of professional work experience. Monika began their career in 2006 as a Usability and Market Research Executive (PT) at the University of Applied Sciences Jena. In 2010, they joined Digital River as a Marketing Program Manager - Email Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, where they were responsible for developing strategies and coordinating marketing campaigns for email and affiliate channels. From 2012 to 2014, Monika worked at Hostelbookers / Hostelworld / WRI as a Digital Marketing Manager - PPC, SEO, Content, Social. Her responsibilities included leading, directing and developing a team of channel experts, creating and implementing an integrated marketing strategy, and owning all marketing channels. In 2014, they joined Biglight as Head of Marketing, where they were responsible for creating and agreeing online marketing strategies that met the objectives and budgets of each customer. In 2019, Monika moved to Electric Gamebox as VP Performance Marketing (Contract). In 2020, they took a sabbatical to travel and focus on family, before joining Ancestry as International Performance Media Lead - Senior Manager in 2021. Most recently, Monika joined TravelLocal as Head of Digital Marketing in 2022.

Monika Rommel completed a Diplom/Post-graduate degree in Marketing from Ernst Abbe University Jena in Germany between 2003 and 2007. Prior to this, they undertook an On the job training - Software Developer program at Deutsche Bahn AG from 1999 to 2002, focusing on Software Development.
