Autumn Karen has had a diverse work experience over the years. Currently, they serve as the Chief Contributor at Triad City Beat and as English Faculty at High Point University. Previously, they worked as a Freelance Ghostwriter/Author at Woven Lines, LLC, authored a book with "Racial Reconciliation," and served as an Associate Producer for "It Happened in Key West - The Musical." Autumn also worked as a Special Education Teacher at McDowell County Schools, Operations Manager at New Day Business Solutions, Reading Specialist at Buncombe County Schools, and Marketing Assistant at Volvo Construction Equipment. Additionally, they were an Honors Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Autumn Karen obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre/Theater from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2000. Autumn then completed a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Women's Health from the University of North Carolina Asheville in 2004. Autumn continued their education by earning a Master of Business Administration degree from Western Carolina University in 2008 and a Master of Arts in Special Education and Teaching in 2012. Autumn pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University from 2014 to 2016, and most recently, completed a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts from 2022 to 2024. Autumn also holds a North Carolina Teacher Licensure certification from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
