Priscilla Giella has over 20 years of experience in laboratory and healthcare management. Priscilla has held various leadership roles, starting as an Assistant Lab Manager at Riverside Health System in 1993, where they oversaw hematology, immunology, and specimen control. Priscilla then served as the Laboratory Director at Virginia Beach General Hospital in Sentara Healthcare from 1994 to 2001, responsible for administrative and technical oversight of a team of 100 staff and managing an $11M operating budget. Following this, they joined Emory Healthcare as an Assistant Laboratory Director, where they managed a larger team of 150 staff across multiple hospitals and outpatient clinics. During this time, they also served as the Interim Core Labs Assistant Director and oversaw various projects including standardization of procedures and the installation of robotic automation. In their most recent role at Trinity Hospital of Augusta, starting in 2007, Priscilla served as the Laboratory Director, managing a team of 45+ staff, coordinating multiple projects, and overseeing an annual operating budget of $2.25M.
Priscilla Giella has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Medical Technology. Their educational journey began at Georgia Southern University, where they pursued their BS degree from 1981 to 1983. Priscilla then continued their studies at Georgia State University from 1984 to 1985, and finally completed their degree at Armstrong State University from 1985 to 1986.
In addition to their educational qualifications, Priscilla Giella obtained a certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a Medical Technologist (MT) in January 1987.
