Prabha Lal

Scientist, Molecular Research at Triumvira Immunologics

Prabha Lal has worked in the field of molecular research and microbiology since 2001. In 2001, they began their career as a Research Assistant at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where they developed a PCR-based technique for the detection of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in seafood and determined its specificity and sensitivity in spiked seafood samples. Prabha then moved on to become a Senior Research Fellow at the same institute, where they designed and conducted research on the characterization of beta-lactamases as a mechanism of antibiotic resistance, and coordinated two research projects that culminated in one first author publication. In 2008, they became a Supervisor of Microbiology at Quest Diagnostics, where they supervised a team of seven medical technologists and managed microbiological testing services. In 2010, they transitioned into a Regional Microbiologist position at the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND), where they managed all facets for rolling up of wide range of new techniques for rapid diagnosis of TB and drug susceptibility at various labs of northern India for treatment under the RNTCP (Revised National TB Control Program). From 2014 to 2020, Prabha Lal worked at ApoPharma Inc. as a Scientist, where they proposed and established a range of in vitro enzymatic assays and HPLC methods for the characterization of pharmacological/ADME properties of drug candidates. Prabha also developed and validated HPLC (UV-, ECD-, FL-) methods for quantitation of drug and metabolite concentration in biological samples. Currently, Prabha Lal is a Scientist at Triumvira Immunologics, Inc.

Prabha Lal completed a Certificate in Life Science Enterprise from the University of Toronto in 2013. In 2008, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medical Microbiology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. From 1997 to 1999, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Microbiology from Panjab University. Prabha also earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Microbiology, General from Delhi University between 1994 and 1997. Additionally, Prabha Lal obtained certifications in Radiation Safety Officer Training from the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada in 2016 and Transportations of Dangerous Goods Regulations: Road/Air from GEMC Environmental Management Consultant Inc. in 2019.
