Richard Abbate

Richard "Rick" Abbate, MBA has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Richard "Rick" is currently serving as the Director of Footprint & Network Optimization at TriVista since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at igus Inc. for almost 20 years, starting as the General Manager in April 1999 and eventually becoming the Chief Executive Officer - North America in February 2014, where they successfully led a $160 million subsidiary.

Rick also held managerial positions at Medtronic where they managed needle development and R&D efforts from 1997 to 1999. Richard "Rick" worked as a Manufacturing and Process Improvement Management Consultant at The Leverage Company in February 1997.

In 1995, Rick joined ITW as the Manufacturing Manager for the Waterbury Buckle/Plastiglide Division, where they implemented cost reduction projects and designed a new plant layout.

Richard "Rick"'searlier experience includes multiple roles with Medtronic, including Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Manager, and Engineering Product Development Manager for surgical needle products. Richard "Rick" also worked at Sikorsky as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, and Junior Manufacturing Engineer.

Richard "Rick" Abbate, MBA obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (BS) in Industrial Engineering from Western New England University between 1982 and 1986. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management and Organization from the University of New Haven from 1988 to 1991. Prior to their higher education, they attended Newington High School from 1979 to 1982. In addition, they have acquired certifications in Lean Foundations and Six Sigma Foundations from LinkedIn in 2022.
