Michael Andrews

Michael Andrews has a diverse work experience, with a focus on data engineering and technology strategy. Michael is currently the Director of Data Engineering at TRM Labs, where they are responsible for building a blockchain analytics and fraud detection data platform. Prior to this, they worked as a Tech Lead Manager and Founding Data Engineer at the same company.

Before joining TRM Labs, Michael was the Chief Technology Officer at Dave Hersh Private Equity, where they successfully turned around the technology strategy and infrastructure for three companies. Michael also worked at VMware as a Staff Engineer, leading data engineering efforts for Socialcast. Additionally, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at Socialcast and as a Software Engineer at LiveOps, where they specialized in Hadoop-based data pipelines and real-time analytics systems.

Michael began their career as a Research Assistant at Drexel University, where they focused on automatic tuning and performance of DSP transforms. Michael has a strong background in software development, data engineering, and technology strategy.

Michael Andrews has completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Drexel University in 2005. Michael also obtained another Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the same university in the same year. Afterward, Michael pursued postgraduate studies in Computer Science at Drexel University. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Triplebyte certified Generalist Software Engineer certification from Triplebyte in January 2020. Additionally, they achieved fluency in Spanish at an intermediate level through the Duolingo language learning platform in March 2016.
