Dan Roper has extensive experience in natural resource management and policy advocacy, currently serving as the New Mexico State Lead and Coordinator at Trout Unlimited since January 2019, focusing on public lands, watershed health, and native species conservation. Previously, Dan worked as the Gateway Community Coordinator for the Continental Divide Trail Coalition and gained research experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University, analyzing wildfire preparedness behavior in Central Oregon. Dan's background also includes roles in policy analysis with the Oregon Legislature, as a Hatfield Summer Fellow at the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, and as an Assistant Farm Manager at Meadowlark Farm. Dan holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
