David Fagan has had a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. David started their career as a Sales Assistant at Chartbusters Ireland in 2000 and worked there until 2003. Following this, they worked as an Archivist at Eugene F. Collins from 2004 to 2005. In 2009, David joined University College Dublin (UCD) where they simultaneously worked as a PhD Student, Teaching Assistant, and later as a Researcher. During this time, they also served as a Thesis Supervisor for the MSc in Business Analytics program from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, they briefly worked as a Lecturer at GCD. David continued their journey at UCD as an Associate Lecturer, teaching Formal Syntax and Computation Theory, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Natural Computing. David also served as a Project Manager/Co-ordinator for a brief period and later as a Senior Research Scientist from 2014 to 2019. In 2017, they were promoted to Assistant Professor at UCD. Most recently, David served as a Senior Data Scientist at Trūata, starting from September 2019 till the present.
David Fagan completed their education in the field of Computer Science. David obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSC) degree from University College Dublin, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. David later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from the same institution, completing their studies from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, David Fagan holds a certification in Project Management from FETAC (Further Education and Training Awards Council).
