Gustavo Eric Valdés Vega

Gustavo Eric Valdés Vega has a solid work experience starting from 1996. Gustavo Eric worked at Praxair for almost a decade, where they held various roles including Sales and Product Manager, New Business Development Manager, and Brand Manager. During this time, they were responsible for increasing sales, managing operations, conducting market research, and leading a team of 20 people.

In 2005, Valdés Vega joined AIG as Head of Marine Mexico, where they successfully expanded the business portfolio and introduced new products, leading to an increase in revenue. Gustavo Eric later became the Head of Marine for Mexico, Central America, and The Caribbean, overseeing a P&L of USD$33M and leading a team of 9 underwriters.

In 2016, Valdés Vega joined Chubb as the Head of Marine Mexico, managing a P&L of USD$47M and achieving consistent fulfillment of the P&L objectives. Gustavo Eric also unified the LOB information of different production systems, claims, and expenses, and led a team of 13 underwriters.

In 2020, Valdés Vega returned to Tryger as the Head of Marine, responsible for opening the market in Mexico and LATAM for digital business of Marine Cargo Insurance. Gustavo Eric handled business development, marketing, client engagement, and field operations.

Most recently, in 2022, Valdés Vega joined CargoCorp UW as the Underwriting Manager LATAM.

Gustavo Eric Valdés Vega obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Investment projects from Universidad de las Américas Puebla. Gustavo Eric attended the university from 2001 to 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. Additionally, Gustavo has acquired several certifications, including an Insurance Diploma from CONDUSEF in November 2021 and various courses from LinkedIn on topics such as sales growth opportunities, sales management, virtual interviewing for HR, accounting, data science, statistics, finance, strategic planning, and soft skills.
