Martin Riecken has had extensive work experience in the field of communications and public relations. Martin started their career at B.W. Advertising Düsseldorf, where they worked as a Consultant (Junior/Trainee) for over two years. Martin then co-founded and managed an agency for promotions and events called mattt productions. After that, they joined E.ON AG as a Manager of Public Relations, where they developed the company's first corporate website and intranet.
Riecken then moved on to Lufthansa, where they held various roles over the years. Martin served as the Senior Manager of Online Communications, where they developed Lufthansa's corporate website and implemented an editorial concept for the airline's intranet. Martin also held the position of Responsible Crisis Communications, where they developed a new crisis communications concept for the Lufthansa Group.
After leaving Lufthansa, Riecken joined LSG Sky Chefs as the Vice President of Corporate Communications, where they were responsible for internal and external communications in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Martin also played a key role in developing a labor communication and public affairs concept during a planned merger in France.
Most recently, Riecken has been working at TUI as the Head of Crisis Communications, Head of Corporate Communications, and currently as the Global Head of Internal Communications & Engagement. In their current role, they are responsible for overseeing internal communications and engagement strategies for the largest tourism group, TUI.

From 1989 to 1995, Martin Riecken attended Ruhr University Bochum, where they obtained a M.A. degree in Mass Communications with minors in Business and Political Sciences.
