Gergely Tomka has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Gergely started their career as a Network Field Engineer at Polygon Kft., where they worked from June 2001 to February 2003. Gergely's next career move was to Cloudera, where they held multiple roles. From May 2017 to October 2019, they worked as an Enterprise Support Engineer, providing assistance to customers. Gergely then transitioned to the role of Site Reliability Engineer from November 2019 to February 2020.

In 2020, Gergely joined Itron, Inc. as a DevOps Engineer. Here, they were involved in the monitoring of a large and globally distributed network of metering devices. Gergely worked on deploying management applications and participated in efforts to modernize the existing system and automate its processes. Gergely held this position until December 2021.

Most recently, Gergely Tomka joined Tulip Interfaces as a DevOps Engineer in January 2022.

Gergely Tomka attended the Tótfalusi Kis Miklós Vocational School for the Printing Industry from 1989 to 1994, where they obtained their Érettségi degree in the field of Creation of Printing Forms. Afterward, they enrolled at Szegedi Tudományegyetem in 1994 pursuing a degree in Computer Science. However, they dropped out after completing three semesters, equivalent to 1.5 years, of the six-semester program. No specific grade was mentioned for their time at Szegedi Tudományegyetem.
