Jose Alberto Mendoza

Jose Alberto Mendoza, CPA has over 17 years of experience in accounting and finance. Jose Alberto is currently serving as the Controller, North America at TuSimple since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President, Controller at the University of Arizona Global Campus from December 2020 to April 2022, and at Ashford University from December 2019 to November 2020.

Before their tenure at the universities, they held various leadership positions at Zovio, starting as the Associate Vice President of Accounting in June 2017 and progressing to Assistant Controller and then Vice President. At Bridgepoint Education, they served as the Director of Accounting from December 2014 to May 2017.

Jose also gained valuable experience at HYLA Mobile, where they worked as the Director of Accounting, FSS, and later as the Director - Inventory & Operations Accounting. Jose Alberto started their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they worked as an Assurance Associate/Senior Associate from July 2005 to June 2011, and later as an Assurance Manager from July 2011 to January 2013. At PwC, they managed financial statement audit engagements for medium-to-large private and SEC clients in various industries such as consumer electronics manufacturing and distribution, telecommunications, data storage, and defense contracting.

Jose Alberto Mendoza, CPA completed their education from 2000 to 2005 at the University of San Diego. Jose Alberto earned a Bachelor of Accountancy & Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in Accounting and Business Administration. Furthermore, in August 2011, they obtained the Certified Public Accountant - California certification from the California Board of Accountancy.
