Martin Hu

Martin Hu has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the technology industry. Martin is currently working as the Head of Data Platform at TuSimple, where they oversee the data platform and its operations. Prior to this, they were an Engineering Manager at TuSimple, responsible for managing the engineering team.

Before joining TuSimple, Martin worked at Coupang as a Principal Data Engineer. During their time there, they played a key role in developing and maintaining the company's data infrastructure and systems.

Martin also has experience working at Lyft, where they held the positions of Tech Lead, Software Engineer, Data, and Senior Software Engineer. Martin was responsible for leading and managing the Customer Platform safety and support data team at Lyft, as well as building and mentoring the team. Martin also played a crucial role in building event instrumentation, data ingestion, and API ingestion systems at Lyft, using technologies like Spark, Airflow, and Apache Flink.

Prior to Lyft, Martin worked at Medline Industries, Inc. as a Lead Data Scientist, Web Analytics. In this role, they designed and implemented data ingestion and warehouse systems, as well as developed experimentation platforms and anomaly detection algorithms.

Martin's earlier work experience includes roles at Mérieux NutriSciences as a Data Engineer and Tech Lead, and at Smart eVision Information Technology Inc. as a Site Manager and Founding Software Engineer. Martin also co-founded FedUI Web Solution. Corp and worked at Siemens as an Automation Engineer/Software Engineer.

Martin Hu holds a Master's degree in Information System Management from Carnegie Mellon University. In addition, Martin has obtained a certification in MCSA: Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014 from Microsoft.
