Mike Arens

Mike Arens has a diverse and extensive work experience in hardware engineering and leadership roles. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of Hardware & Software Engineering at Twelve, a company focused on creating a fossil-free future through carbon transformation technology. Mike is also a Technical Advisor to the Hardware Engineering team at Skydio, a late-stage startup developing autonomous vehicles.

Previously, Mike was the Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Carbon Health, where they managed multiple product verticals and led the team through the development of medical-grade respiratory devices and consumer-grade wearables. Mike also played a key role in the strategic acquisition of Inofab.health and was responsible for the FDA-compliant Quality Management System. During their time at PAX Labs, Inc., Mike scaled the organization, executed multiple programs, and shipped over 25 major initiatives as the Vice President of Hardware Engineering.

Prior to that, Mike worked as a Technical Advisor to the CEO of a stealth tech startup and held roles at Google, Basis (an Intel company), Cisco Systems, MOTO Development Group, and Ultimodule, Inc., where they gained expertise in system engineering, embedded systems engineering, and project management. Overall, Mike's work experience showcases their strong leadership, strategic planning, and technical skills in the hardware engineering field.

Mike Arens attended Hoffman Estates High School from 1995 to 1999 and obtained a high school degree. Mike then pursued higher education at Purdue University College of Engineering from 1999 to 2003, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
