Wayne Wakeman

Wayne Wakeman has a diverse range of work experience in the field of biotechnology and software engineering. Wayne began their career at Dharmacon Research as an Assistant Scientist, where they conducted research and assisted with production. Wakeman then transitioned to InforMax Inc., where they worked as a Technical Support Specialist, providing customer support for bioinformatics software packages.

After that, they joined Rosetta Biosoftware/Merck as a Technical Account Manager, working with clients across Europe to achieve their scientific goals using Rosetta Biosoftware products. Wayne developed relationships with various research groups and corresponded with colleagues to discuss customer projects and software improvements.

Wakeman then moved on to the Allen Institute for Brain Science, where they held multiple roles. Wayne started as a Project Manager and Application Analyst, contributing to the development of information systems and data pipelines. Later, they became a Software Engineering Manager, responsible for the generation and presentation of neuroscience data sets. Lastly, they served as a Senior Product Manager, representing the interests of scientific data analysts and overseeing Institute projects.

Currently, Wakeman is employed at TwinStrand Biosciences as a Senior Technical Product Manager.

Wayne Wakeman pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Microbiology from Oregon State University. Following that, they attended the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business from 2013 to 2015, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

In terms of additional certifications, Wayne Wakeman obtained the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification from the Scrum Alliance in June 2019. Wayne also holds the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS), which they obtained in September 2020.
