Dana Watters

Dana Watters is an experienced professional with a focus on civic engagement and policy development. Currently serving as a National Advisory Committee Member at the U.S. Census Bureau since July 2022, Dana also holds the title of Program Director for the Local Democracy Initiative at the National League of Cities, where responsibilities include managing partnerships, developing resources for voter engagement, and administering grant applications. Previous roles include Grants Specialist for various organizations, Union Organizer for LOCAL 2110 UAW, and Research Consultant for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. An internship as a Legal Policy Analyst in the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York was marked by involvement in human trafficking advocacy. Educationally, Dana holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University, specializing in Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs.
