Matthew Self

Matthew Self has a diverse work experience in product management and software engineering. Matthew started their career as a Co-Founder at Simple Technology Solutions in 2006 and later worked as a Software Engineer at Goldman Sachs. In 2009, they joined the U.S. Department of Commerce as a Product Manager, focusing on Public APIs. Following this, they worked as a Product Manager, Data and Analytics at Corporate Executive Board from 2010 to 2013. Matthew then transitioned to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, where they served as a Product Manager, Big Data. In 2014, they joined Kit Check as a Senior Product Manager and later became a Founding Product Manager at Cisco-UCSF Medical Center-Center for Digital Health Innovation, where they led the development of a platform for patient data access. In 2018, Matthew took on the role of Product Lead at the United States Digital Service, where they used technology to improve government services. Currently, they serve as the Director of Product Management at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Matthew Self attended Virginia Tech from 2002 to 2006, where they studied Computer Science. Prior to attending Virginia Tech, they also attended Mount Vernon High School, although the specific dates and field of study are not provided.
